Angela Gottschalk was born and raised in Leipzig. She discovered tailoring as a hobby at the age of thirteen. Ten years later, she dedicated herself to historical costumes and their history.
In 2004, she turned her passion into a profession and has been making costumes for the stage, carnival and historical events ever since. For the past ten years, she has also been travelling throughout Germany as a performance artist, bringing history to the public through her historically authentic costumes.
In a film about Hamburg, which was shot in Stade because of the historical backdrop, Angela Gottschalk brought the city to life in style as a market woman in a self-made costume. The NDR television station is also fascinated by her collection of costumes and wigs in the workshop of her home and recently broadcasted a television report about her and her passion as a costume designer.
