Bach & now! 2026

The “Bach & now! 2026” festival was a resounding success, marked by an exceptionally inspiring atmosphere. International artists, engaging workshops, a sound installation, readings, a panel discussion, and a fantastic world premiere of the commissioned work by Xiaoyong Chen (Composer-in-Residence 2026) made the festival days a truly special experience.

A very special highlight was the exhibition of the first edition of Bach’s “The Art of Fugue” from 1751, which is normally housed at the Bach Museum in Eisenach.

The workshops in the elementary schools, held in cooperation with the Lübeck University of Music, were very popular. The closing children’s concert with Juri Tetzlaff provided wonderful moments and great enthusiasm among the young visitors.

The open and warm atmosphere throughout the entire festival was very touching: people met and struck up conversations with one another in a relaxed setting.

Personally, I am already looking forward to next year—because in 2027, “Bach & now!” will once again delight audiences of all ages with a spectacular program.
