Experience a fascinating journey back in time to the era of Johann Sebastian Bach around 1700.
Costume designer Angela Gottschalk invites you into the enchanting world of the Baroque. She presents magnificent costumes from the period and dresses a lady in the boudoir — what lies behind this mysterious room will be revealed on site.
How did people live in Bach’s time? Was his clothing comfortable? Did he really always wear a wig? And what did the ladies of that era look like? The Baroque period was marked by splendid festivities, colorful garments, elaborate hairstyles, grand architecture, beautiful gardens, and magnificent art and music.
Angela Gottschalk shares fascinating insights about fabrics and historical context. She also demonstrates hand-sewing techniques, which participants are welcome to try themselves. As a keepsake, small fabric sample bags will be provided. Those who wish can even dress up in a Baroque costume and have their photo taken.
