A moving and inspiring journey through sacred choral music across the centuries

The Gesualdo Six invite you on an emotional and uplifting exploration of sacred vocal music from different eras. Highlights include Tallis’s polyphonic masterpiece In jejunio et fletu and Gesualdo’s striking Plange quasi virgo, both expressing a profound sense of human vulnerability and the yearning for forgiveness and protection.

From more recent times, the effortlessly poetic settings by Joanna Marsh and Richard Rodney Bennett encourage us to embrace life in all its richness, while works by Tavener and Morales pose spiritual questions and search for affirmation. This program may be heard as an uplifting homage to the souls of the departed — a tribute resonating deeply with those who remember them.
