Organ Recital – Hauke Ramm

Stader Church of St. Wilhadi

Works by Johann Sebastian Bach, Arvo Pärt, Jehan Alain

The Erasmus Bielfeldt organ in St. Wilhadi has a long history, with evidence of an organ as early as 1322. In 1724, a lightning strike destroyed the tower and a Schnitger organ; in December 1730, a new building contract was concluded with Erasmus Bielfeldt. The new Wilhadi organ was inaugurated in January 1736.

As we know, Bach loved the organ and the contemporary public held him in high esteem as a virtuoso musician, composer, improviser and organ expert.

Johann Sebastian Bach, loved for his virtuosity and expertise, greatly influenced organ music.

Enjoy a concert featuring works by Bach, Arvo Pärt, and Jehan Alain, played by organist and church music director Hauke Ramm on the masterful baroque organ by Erasmus Bielfeldt.
